Rich Toth focuses his practice on federal, state and local governmental issues, including zoning, land use planning, real estate transactions, and economic and business development. He represents clients on matters before government bodies including the Chicago Zoning Board of Appeals, Cook County Zoning Board of Appeals, Chicago Plan Commission, Chicago City Council Committee on Zoning, Chicago City Council Committee on Transportation and Public Way. More generally, he advises business clients on civil litigation and corporate matters, including entity formation, licensing, employment policies, and pending legislation.

Rich also advises Taft-Hartley pension, health and other employee benefit plans on plan design, regulatory compliance, plan interpretation, benefit claims and denials, appeals, subrogation claims and litigation, ERISA collection, and related matters.

Rich serves as an elected school board member for Golf School District 67, having first been elected in 2011, and has served as the school board’s president since 2015. He also serves on the governing board of Niles Township District for Special Education – District 807, having first been appointed in 2013. He has served on the Illinois State Bar Association’s Employee Benefits Section Council, serving as its Chair during 2012-2013.
